Friday Favorites: 11th October

Bah. It’s been an awful week. I mean it, truly – no repeats wanted here!

First off, I arrived back from my sojourn in Barcelona. Ahh, 26 degrees, evening strolls, bright lights, beach time and churros. However, back home in England, Autumn has well and truly arrived.

Churros

I took a wander through the park yesterday and the falling leaves, chill in the air and immense amount of jumpers in the shops (I may have browsed the windows a little as I came into town for lunch) left me feeling that new season excitement. That moment was the first good one all week though, as no sooner had I stepped off the plane than I got a head cold. I figured I would shake it off fast, which I did – only to then get food poisoning! Two days later, I have a sore throat. *sigh*

Friday Favorites / Things That Have Kept Me Going This Week!

1. The cat! Gorgeousness incarnate, she has kept me company on the bathroom floor, the sofa and in bed. Yesterday, she even brought me a giant, half dead spider to comfort me in my time of need. It’s the thought that counts.

2. With the cold comes party planning and this dress caught my eye as perfect holiday season wear.

3. My usual hobby of pinning recipes had to go on the back burner this week as I couldn’t deal with looking at food. Instead, I started planning ideas for the contents of gift hampers I fully intend to make this year. Check out my pinboard.

Upcoming trip to Catalonia

Hey y’all, super excited as I just clicked the ‘Book it Now’ button for my trip to Barcelona! I anticipate a happy few weeks combing through the TimeOut website now to discover great things to do while I’m there (I hear there is a week long festival where the Catalan castellers¬†build human castles in the street)!

Hopefully I can get some flamenco in there somewhere, not to mention shopping – although that one might take some persuading to get the Dude to co-operate. Not to mention the food!

Wow, I just spaced out for a moment there imagining it all. Happy face.

Of course, this entails putting together a 10-day holiday wardrobe…cue lots of Polyvoring!

To Disneyland!

I had a wonderful Christmas, snuggled in a warm cottage in my old school flannel pjs (pink, red and silver tarten, rocking!) with a veritable pile of presents before me. It was a generous year and after all the chocolate, delicious food and drink I am the proud owner of a La Creuset blue teapot (love!), some pro hair curlers (my hair is finally starting to grow past it’s annoying chin-bob stage, bleurgh), some black pearl earrings (I have planned a trip to Tahiti in my future for the sole purpose of buying black pearls in¬†abundance) and an absolutely beautiful, budget-busting (naughty boyfriend!) Astley Clarke friendship bracelet. Adore.

Enough bragging however, tomorrow is the sad task of demolishing the Christmas tree and clearing up the house ready for 2013 to begin fresh and clean. Back during the year (when I was an employee and not a start-up business!) my boyfriend and I booked a New Year’s trip to Disneyland to make up for not having been on holiday in two years. We’ll be in the park for the NYE fireworks and parade, so excited! It does mean though that all traces of Christmas must be dealt with before we go, as we’ll be arriving back with hours to spare before starting work again in the new year.

Happy New Year!
